WALK AWHILE is a family-friendly walk-in which men are asked to wear high-heeled shoes to show their support for women throughout the community. Onsite registration begins in front of Capital Building downtown Fayetteville at 6:00pm and the walk starts at 7:00pm on Friday, March 24,2023 and will go from the Segra Stadium building. Registration is only $25 for walkers. Students can register for a discounted rate of $15. Businesses are encouraged to raise donations internally by having male supervisors or CEOs agree to walk if employees can raise enough money (goals can be set by the company). It is a great way to encourage team building and support a great cause at the same time! Why is this event necessary? The number of rapes and sexual assaults in our community are continually growing, and volunteer and financial resources are strained to combat the problem.
